Breath of Fresh Air: Outdoor Event Spaces in DC

With it being so hot and sticky now, thinking about outdoor events may be a bit painful, but for event planners looking to book space for spring 2015 events outdoors may be the place to be. We've compiled a list of some of the hot spots that provide outdoor space for networking, cocktail receptions, or even lunch.

  • Fathom Gallery - located in Logan Circle, this new venue was renovated to provide a place for local artists to showcase their works and host events. The open gallery space is available for rent and would be a great "out of the ballroom" experience. On the roof of the building the gallery boasts a rooftop garden, "plush with greenery and budding pear trees." The space accommodates 120-125 guests.

  • Woodrow Wilson House - the former home of President Wilson is available for rental. From a variety of interior rooms that can be used for meetings to the outdoor gardens, this location has a true DC feel.

  • Pinstripes - This unique venue in the Shops at Georgetown features 14 bowling lanes, six bocce courts, a bistro, and an outdoor patio with views of the C & O canal. Their event spaces can accommodate 20 to 600 people.

  • Top of the Town - located on the top of an apartment building in Rosslyn, this venue is tucked away, but its location affords it amazing city views. The ballroom space is perfect for dinners or lunches with speakers or panels. The patio off the ballroom allows guests to enjoy a birds eye outdoor view of DC.

We'd love to hear from you - what are your favorite outdoor spaces for events in more temperate air?
