We Want You…To Mark your Calendar

The landscape for battle is shifting quickly. From the emergence of cyber warfare to the physical battlefield moving from fields into cities, our military is undergoing a huge transformation. Additionally, military spending priorities are rapidly changing and military professionals are expected to pursue continuing education and specializations. We wanted to highlights some of the major events that should be on the calendars of anyone involved with the DoD.

  • Next-Generation ISR Symposium (July 11-12; Arlington, VA) - In our interconnected world, ISR activities (integrating acquisition, processing, and provision of information and intelligence to support commanders) are more important than ever. This event allows attendees to meet and interact with key ISR thought leaders and senior leaders who are defining requirements and shaping the next generation of ISR. Topics will include: the latest OSD and service next gen ISR strategies, roadmaps, needs and new initiatives; addressing critical gaps in providing actionable intelligence to decision makers and the warfighter; addressing multi-sensor data fusion technologies across organizations, platforms and diverse operating environments; challenges for integrating all-source intelligence; and requirements of the future force.

 

  • Naval Future Force Science and Technology Expo (July 20-21; Washington, DC) - This biennial event from The Office of Naval Research (ONR) showcases some of the Navy and Marine Corp's latest technologies and brings together the brightest minds from around the world to share information, discuss research opportunities, and build partnerships between the Navy, Marine Corps, industry and academia. There are one-on-one appointments, information kiosks with program officers, breakout and poster sessions, as well as exhibits and seminars designed to help participants learn about ONR's mission and how to support it.[Tweet "Check out these #DoD and #Military events from @TECHTrain @NavalEngineers @AUSAorg and more. #GovEventsBlog"]

 

  • Modern Day Marine (September 19-20; Quantico, VA) - We profiled this long-running event here on the blog last year. Many of the features remain for 2017 with the highlight of the event being the opportunity to get hands-on with some of the latest technology being introduced in the field.

 

  • 2017 AUSA Annual Meeting & Exposition (October 9-11; Washington, DC) - Produced by the Association of the United States Army, this event is designed to deliver the Army's message by highlighting the capabilities of Army organizations and presenting a wide range of industry products and services. From large keynotes to smaller workshops and breakouts, the event brings together Army leadership, industry, and boots on the ground to discuss the challenges of today's warfighter.   • MILCOM 2017 (October 23-25; Baltimore, MD) -- The theme for MILCOM 2017 is Military Communications and Innovation: Priorities for the Modern Warfight. At this event, global military communications professionals will discuss command, control, communications, computing, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (C4ISR) challenges and share successes and trends.[Tweet "What are your can't miss #DoD and #Military events? #GovEventsBlog"]

 

  • Sea-Air-Space (April 9-11, 2018; National Harbor, MD) - Run by the Navy League, this event is the largest maritime exposition in the United States.
