NDIA Procurement Division Committee Meetings and Luncheon



This bi-monthly Meeting will consist of a half-day pre-meeting on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at NDIA. Due to space constraints, the pre-meeting is limited to 40 people.

As a result of a special request from AT&L, the pre-meeting will feature a discussion of Better Buying Power (BBP) 3.0 with Ms. Mary Margaret Evans, Principal Deputy for Manufacturing and Industrial Base Policy. This pre-meeting will take place from 1:30 PM - 4:30 PM at NDIA. For the first 90 minutes, Mr. Will Goodman, Assistant Vice President for Policy, NDIA, will facilitate a discussion of BBP 3.0 to draw out the views and opinions of participants on the various initiatives and possible implementing actions. Beginning at 3:00 PM, Ms. Evans will join the conversation to hear NDIA’s views on BBP 3.0 feedback and implementation recommendations.

A no-host Reception will follow the pre-meeting at Ireland’s Four Courts, 2051 Wilson Blvd., Arlington, VA 22201, located a half block from NDIA’s building. Since this Reception will not be hosted, participants should be prepared to cover their own food and beverage expenses.

The pre-meeting will be followed by the Procurement Division Committee Meetings with a General Session and Luncheon on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at Crowell & Moring, LLP. After the General Session and Committee Meetings, Dr. Arun Seraphin, majority Professional Staff Member for Science and Technology, Senate Armed Services Committee, and Mr. Kevin Gates, majority Professional Staff Member for Science and Technology, House Armed Services Committee, will join Mr. Goodman for a moderated Panel Luncheon. The discussion will focus on next year’s science and technology outlook for the Congress, with a focus on the Congress’s reaction to the new innovation initiatives announced by Under Secretary Kendall in Better Buying Power 3.0.

Concurrent Committee Meetings will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2014, to include Contract & Acquisition Management, Contract Finance, Legal, and Procurement Executive Committee. The Committees will review issues of common interest or concern and discuss future actions.
