Readiness Summit: Supporting the Nation's Readiness

The Readiness Summit will provide a dialogue between Congressional leadership, the Services and Industry on how to leverage training technology to attain future readiness in all domains (land, air, sea, space and cyberspace).

CHALLENGE:  The broad and dynamic nature of the threats to US National Security combines with an extremely pressurized budget environment is challenging force readiness now and in the foreseeable future.  While Congress continues to seek ways to balance the budget, the Pentagon is making hard decisions on where to apply scarce resources.  Knowing that acquisition programs often compete with readiness dollars, NTSA seeks to engage key readiness stakeholders in a discussion on how best to protect readiness and at the same time, find innovative and cost effective solutions to growing readiness gaps.

OBJECTIVE:  In support of this dialogue, NTSA will sponsor a Readiness Summit.  The event will bring together high-level officials from the Hill, the Pentagon and the field to articulate current and future readiness challenges, review current and near tern readiness programs, identify key enablers that will support next generation training, and formulate a way ahead for the Administration and Congress.
