As part of the Extreme Weather and Critical Infrastructure Webinar Series, the Office of Infrastructure Protection will host a Webinar, “Changing Precipitation, Drought, and the Impacts to Infrastructure,” on Friday, April 10, 2015, from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. EDT. This joint partnership Webinar will feature speakers from across the interagency discussing the changing precipitation patterns around the United States, how they create drought conditions, and, in turn, their impact on critical infrastructure.
Topics will include:
- National changes in patterns of precipitation – causes, how much, when, where, and how they contribute to drought conditions
- The cascading impacts of drought on critical infrastructure sectors
The Extreme Weather and Critical Infrastructure Webinar Series provides participants with a series of interactive presentations that connect key infrastructure stakeholders from throughout the public and private sector with subject matter experts and innovators. The Webinars share tools, trends, issues, lessons learned, and best practices that support improved security and resilience of infrastructure in the face of increasingly frequent and diverse weather threats.
