AFCEA International Spring Intelligence Symposium

The game is changing for the Intelligence Community (IC) and for businesses and academia that support it.  Transformations in global political, economic, social, and technological spheres are occurring with unprecedented speed and complexity.  Many carry ramifications of strategic importance. The nation’s intelligence community and its industrial base are charged with observing, understanding and assessing the emerging world so that decision-makers can anticipate events, avoid surprise and achieve strategic advantage.

The very definition of intelligence is changing as non-traditional commercial, new-media, and third-party sources alter the IC’s traditional monopoly on the collection and production of actionable information. As the Community’s customers have increasing access to alternative sources and insights, there is a concern that change is outpacing the ability of organizations and structures to implement radical renovations required to remain relevant. The 2016 Spring Symposium offers the opportunity to address these weighty issues, featuring some of the nation’s leading thinkers on the future and intelligence, in a frank and classified forum.

  • A vision for the future of intelligence
  • Digital innovation for intelligence
  • An end to the IC monopoly
  • The future of collection
  • Space and counter-space intelligence
  • Rethinking cyber, from analysis to offense
  • Harnessing the next technological revolution
  • Secrecy in a transparent world

AFCEA also will honor Dr. Donald Kerr, the 2016 recipient of the AFCEA Charlie Allen Award for Distinguished Intelligence Service.
