FEMP eTraining: Water Management Basics



The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Federal Energy Management Program (FEMP) presents its latest e-Training course, Water Management Basics.

 

This course provides learners with a concise introduction to comprehensive water management in key topic areas including basic water management terminology, the history of federal water mandates, current E.O. 13693 provisions, best practices associated with comprehensive water management, and proven water conservation financing mechanisms and strategies.

 

The course also offers current resources and information on training opportunities for further water management education.

 

By completing this course, learners will be able to:

• Identify new E. O. 13693 water efficiency provisions in six key areas

• Recognize water types and terminology, definitions, and applications

• Initiate comprehensive water management planning

• Consider your financing options to launch and pay for water management projects

 

 

After completing a course evaluation and multiple-choice assessment, participants will receive a certificate of completion and be eligible for continuing education units.

Speaker and Presenter Information

Kate McMordie Stoughton is a water efficiency engineer with Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL), specializing in federal water management. Stoughton currently leads the water efficiency team for PNNL. In addition, Stoughton provides water management expertise to federal programs such as the U.S. Department of Energy Federal Energy Management Program water efficiency program, the Army, and General Services Administration. McMordie Stoughton’s work includes the development of strategic plans for water management at federal sites, technology evaluations and demonstrations, training, and federal policy guidance in water management. McMordie Stoughton holds a B.S. in civil engineering from the University of Colorado.
