ACT-IAC Small Business Alliance Straight Talk featuring Gladys Bailey

Join the ACT-IAC Small Business Alliance on Wednesday, February 10th at 1307 New York Ave. NW in Washington, DC for Straight Talk featuring Gladys Bailey, Acting Director of the Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) for the Department of Labor.  

The mission of the OSDBU for the Department of Labor is to administer their small business program in accordance with the Small Business Act.  Their priority is to ensure that small businesses, including small disadvantaged businesses, woman owned small businesses, service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses and HUBZone certified businesses, have the maximum practicable opportunity to participate in work as prime contractors and subcontractors.  The Department is committed to encouraging and assisting small businesses seeking contracts with the Department.  

Gladys Bailey is the Deputy Director, Office of Small and Disadvantaged Utilization/OASAM advocating for small businesses. Gladys is a retired Air Force veteran, with many years of procurement and acquisition experience received through various jobs as a contract specialist, contracting officer and procurement analyst with the Department of Defense and the Department of Labor, collectively over 25 years.

During this program Miss Bailey will discuss the importance of Small Business to the Department of Labor in addition to steps Small Businesses can take to grow and succeed in the federal market.  Lastly, Miss Bailey will speak on the assistance the Department of Labor can provide to Small Businesses.  Registration will begin at 1:00 and the event will start promptly at 1:30.
