11th Annual Joint & Combat Support Agency IT Day

AFCEA NOVA is proud to host our 11th Annual Joint & Combat Support Agency IT Day on Friday, April 20, 2018, at the Ritz Carlton Pentagon City. This one-day conference will provide DOD leadership with an opportunity to brief industry on their vision, requirements, and acquisition strategies, andl also allow them to explain how they plan to leverage IT and accelerated acquisition approaches to address critical needs.  Learn how industry can support filling critical capability gaps with Information Technology and related services.  Attendees will have an opportunity to meet and hear from senior leadership from OSD, Joint Staff, COCOMS, US Army, Coast Guard, and DOD Agencies.  You will gain insight from senior-leadership into these organizations and learn:

  • How IT will be used to improve combat support, Joint Warfighter effectiveness, and overall readiness.
  • Hear why the Army is planning to move towards streamlining the acquisition process and moving towards a SCOCOM-like acquisition model of buy, try, decide and acquire.
  • Learn directly from SOCOM Acquisition Leadership on how and why they implemented buy, try, decide, and acquire.
  • Learn about accelerated acquisition approaches being used and considered including Other Transaction Authority (OTA’s), GWACS, and other vehicles that will support accelerating acquisition in support of mission critical requirements.
  • Hear CIOs and leadership from these organizations describe current capability gaps and planned acquisitions.
  • Hear from top acquisition leadership, including PEOs, who can describe industry opportunities to provide technology and services to DOD

These experienced leaders are expected to address:

  • Their largest warfighting challenges
  • Expectation for solutions from Information Technology and the IT community
  • Efforts to increase the speed of acquisition while improving efficiency and effectiveness
  • New and continuing efforts to spur innovation throughout their organizations and ultimately to the battlefield
  • Successes and challenges of a mutually supportive partnership with industry to support the warfighter
  • Special topics in hot trends such as cybersecurity, cloud, mobility, architecture, automation and data analysis

This event benefits both Large and Small Business

Participating Small Businesses are invited to present their capabilities to other firms, both Large and Small, in a dedicated networking session. In addition to Large Businesses looking to form partnerships with small businesses, we will have several representatives from Government Small Business Offices in attendance.

Join us on 20 April to engage with these senior DOD leaders as they share their insights into current issues, priorities, philosophies, directives and goals that are driving warfighter support systems planning, acquisition, and sustainment. This is an outstanding opportunity to personally meet these senior Defense leaders and to "plant the seeds" for future visits to their staffs. Additionally, you will learn what other companies are doing with these warfighter agencies, which can foster partnership opportunities.

Nowhere else do the IT leaders from these diverse, technology-driven organizations assemble to share insights on how industry can best support them. Given today’s strategic and budgetary challenges, and the ever-increasing pace of technological innovation, the 11th Annual AFCEA NOVA Joint & Combat Support Agency IT Day is a must-attend conference.
