YPG Disaster Response Workshop: How GEOINT Makes an Impact
Whether supporting a national security event, responding to a natural or manmade crisis, or securing the Super Bowl, Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) is indispensable to the public safety community to create and sustain shared situational awareness among all agencies. YPG presents this workshop as a way to discuss how GEOINT is necessary to disaster and humanitarian planning and response.
FEMA Geospatial Information Officer Chris Vaughan will discuss how GEOINT was used in their anticipation and/or response to a natural disaster. Following that discussion, FEMA and Esri will have a hands-on portion that will show attendees how the agency created the specific application that was used during a specific incident. Light breakfast provided.
