Reimagining Intelligence Through Partnerships & Innovation

The 39th annual AFCEA Spring Intelligence Symposium returns to the NGA Campus East in Springfield, Virginia on March 24-25, 2020. This classified (TS/SI/TK/NOFORN) two-day flagship intelligence event is a forum for Intelligence Community professionals and an ideal venue for learning and networking.

At the 2020 Spring Intelligence Symposium, attendees will gain a greater understanding of the IC’s collective vision for the use of partnerships and innovation.  This one-of-a-kind engagement is designed to help the public and private sectors better understand, strengthen, and expand their relationship at every level. Government and private sector intelligence representatives will assert that much of the IC’s current work in building strong partnerships and adopting innovative best practices is an ongoing – but not necessarily sufficient – response to the most challenging threat environment of the post-war era.  The 2020 Spring Intelligence Symposium will focus on identifying the most promising and most successful innovation and partnership ideas currently taking root within both industry and the IC.

A variety of classified (TS/SI/TK) panels will discuss the ways in which expanded partnerships at all levels and across all public and private sector boundaries are making a difference now against the hardest intelligence problems.   The panels will examine the vision and corresponding strategies to innovate with the private sector from a variety of perspectives, exposing areas in which processes and rule sets may unintentionally inhibit industry’s ability to provide more creative solutions.  Moderators will delve beneath the surface to highlight the way in which members of the IC are working out of the public view to leverage partnerships and embrace innovation to profoundly impact the ways in which the Nation’s intelligence enterprise performs and is funded.  Particular attention and focus will be placed on identifying current and future intelligence investment areas as well as understanding the context and decision environment for desired outcomes and corresponding resource expenditures.

AFCEA will also honor the 2020 recipient of the AFCEA Charlie Allen Award for Distinguished Intelligence Service.
