What’s Critical for Federal Security Leaders to Understand in 2021?

Looking back over the last year, federal agencies have been forced to make some significant changes with respect to technology and cybersecurity in order to sustain their mission in a secure way and shift to a workforce that is largely distributed. The pandemic has forced government to rethink many of the practices and approaches that worked previously, but it has also opened up the possibility of challenging the status quo - and not only rethinking the way we use technology in the government, but how we go about securing the overall mission and every single laptop, BYOD device and the individual endpoints that are now used every day across the federal government.

We’ve reached an inflection point where the ongoing evolution of tech innovation is about to surpass the acceptable and affordable limits of storage and scalability. And despite all the advantages of innovation and adoption, the complexity that’s ensued across federal IT networks has actually made it more difficult to manage security risk effectively and reliably. With data as the central element across security, innovation, and overall mission success, it’s absolutely critical that both industry and government collaborate and rethink the way they approach tech and security.
