WHY ATTEND PRECISION STRIKE ANNUAL REVIEW 2012

As our Nation transitions, the Defense Department continues to pursue Better Buying Power by making affordability a requirement for weapons systems and by seeking to eliminate redundant defense programs. We must keep our focus on the current challenges and the importance of delivering value for the warfighter, concentrating on weapons reform, adapting acquisition processes, and making further improvements in the acquisition of services.

With the focus on a broader range of challenges and opportunities, including the security and Prosperity of the Asia Pacific Region, we will be supporting broader reforms and different capabilities as we join with allies and partners around the world.

By participating in PSA’s Precision Strike Annual Review (PSAR-12), as hosted by the Air Armament Center and the Air Force Research Laboratory at Eglin AFB, with the theme of Weapons Reform—Adapting Acquisition Processes for Today, you will gain perspectives for precision engagement across the Department. Further, Leaders from OSD, the Joint Staff, the U.S. Special Operations Command, the Services and the International community will address key weapons programs. Also, the Military Departments will share insights into the precision strike programs they need for the future.
