18th Annual Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Conference and Exhibition

This event qualifies for 18 CEUs

The American Association of Airport Executives and Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport are pleased to welcome you to the 18th Annual Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Conference and Exhibition, March 22-25, 2015, in beautiful and historic Savannah, Georgia.

The purpose of this conference, the only one dedicated specifically to the use of GIS at airports, is to discover how GIS enhances airport asset management, from daily airfield inspections to lease agreements, from security to utilities, and much more. GIS is a powerful and cost-effective tool that many airports, large and small, use to improve numerous aspects of daily operations. This conference is an outstanding opportunity to learn from experts how to implement a robust airport GIS.

There are numerous benefits to attending this unique conference, including:

  • New "lightning rounds": Learn a maximum amount of information in a minimum amount of time as airports quickly share successes and future plans to open and close the conference
  • New "speed dating": Sign up to meet one-on-one with airport personnel, federal government personnel or vendors/consultants
  • Tour time: Visit Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport to learn how SAV uses GIS for obstruction evaluations, airfield inspections, and loading data into a customized Airports GIS database, plus learn about Savannah Area GIS on city and county levels
  • Roundtable discussions: Organized, small groups will meet with a pre-assigned leader to share ideas on GIS and NextGen, Building Information Modeling (BIM), GIS partnerships with outside agencies, and GIS tools (Maximo, PROPworks)
  • Networking opportunities: Discuss the latest regulations and learn about cutting-edge GIS uses from airport GIS managers, government personnel and GIS consultants/vendors
