Annual Cryogenic Engineering and Safety Course

This event qualifies for 3.0 CEUs

Held on the campus of the Colorado School of Mines August 3rd to the 7th, 2015. This 5-Day course is designed to give a sound basis for beginning engineers new to the field and to introduce engineers and technicians to the fundamentals and principles for sound working knowledge of cryogenic engineering.

Begins with a brief review of Thermodynamics but quickly moves into practical principles of cryogenic fluids and gases, materials, equipment, construction, vacuum, design principles, refrigeration and liquefaction, instrumentation, and a full day of cryogenic safety.

The course includes a 1000 page notebook, a hardback version fo the textbook from which the class is structured: Cryogenic Engineering, 2nd ED, T. Flynn, and a handbook of T-S charts and relevant data for class exercises. Class demonstrations using liquid nitrogen are performed to enhance the experience of some materials principles. Numerous films and photographic examples are used to expand on course principles.

2 certificates are issued: One is a continuing education 3.0 credit certificate from the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colorado - Continuing Education Department. The other is a CRYOCO LLC course completion certificate of attendance.

Continental breakfast, food, beverages, and snacks are supplied during class daily. One day of class mid-week a lunch is served in-house.
