Navigating Transition 2016: The Making of a New Administration

Following the presidential election every four years, the Executive Branch goes through a massive, months-long transition; as one Administration departs and another takes office, thousands of career civil servants have to weather the inevitable turbulence that comes with it... and still keep the government running all the while.

As anyone who’s been through this knows, that’s no small feat, and the 2016/2017 version may be even more challenging, for obvious reasons—especially given the relatively large number of career executives who are eligible to retire…and who may not want to go through the trauma of another transition. The good news is that there are plenty of ‘lessons learned’ when it comes to this, and this webinar will share many of them.

Dr. Ron Sanders, a Vice President with Booz Allen and a Senior Fellow and Professorial lecturer with the Center for Excellence in Public Leadership- is an expert in transitioning from one administration to the next. Ron is a veteran of almost forty years of Federal service (most recently Chief Human Capital Officer for the Office of the Director of National Intelligence) and a ‘survivor’ of seven presidential transitions, and he will offer his candid insights, as well as those of his colleagues, about navigating Transition 2016.
