Theme, “Cyber Security Has No Borders”

CyberTexas was established to provide expanded access to security developments and resources located in Texas; provide an ongoing platform for the education and skill development of cyber professionals & job creation; build strong relationships with other U.S. and International geographies focused on cyber ecosystem development; bring national and international resources to the region to showcase Texas-based cyber assets; identify and encourage business opportunities within and outside of Texas; and create long-term value for the cyber security ecosystem of San Antonio and the State of Texas.

The conference is brought to you by The San Antonio Public-Private Cyber Community and the Federal Business Council (FBC) in conjunction with leaders from federal and local government agencies, industry and academia.

Additional sessions will be provided by NIST addressing the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE), including an interactive session on the National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (NCCoE) Use-Case Development and Progress.

Objectives of CyberTexas:

  • A positive, unique, highly productive unification point to reinforce Texas’ leadership in cyber security
  • Provides educational content on trending cyber security topics that is compelling and timely; training and education for the region’s core areas of Banking, Oil & Gas, Government, Military, Intelligence, Border Security and other mission areas
  • Provides a strong voice for Texas into the larger national cyber security conversation, while highlighting the assets Texas brings to the cyber community overall due to its specific expertise, strengths, focus, and business sectors
  • Attracts and engages a multi-sector attendee-base consisting of private sector, academic and government participants reflecting the cross-section of the Texas cyber security ecosystem
  • Supports the growing cyber security economy by synchronizing the agenda with the evolving needs of the region’s stakeholders; fosters meaningful business interactions for all participants, attendees, exhibitors and sponsors
  • Provides a platform for education and support of the next generation of cyber warriors, highlighting STEM and cyber careers for Texas students. Supports and integrates the training through cyber competitions
  • Generates workforce development activities to include a cyber job fair and workforce development activity
  • Implements online tools for connecting and defining the community; deploys the National CyberMap and allow companies and personnel to begin to define the region
  • Highlights San Antonio and the State of Texas as a desirable location for companies and personnel to locate who are involved with the business of Cyber Security
  • A sustained platform for the support and development of Texas’ leadership role in securing our nation, now and in the future

For the past 40 years, the Federal Business Council has produced thousands of symposiums, expositions, training forums, and conferences, both on-site and off, for the Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, and civilian agencies. 2016 stands to improve upon our schedule, with over 100 events planned.
