The purpose of the Contractors’ Purchasing System Review (CPSR) is to evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness with which the contractor spends Government funds and complies with Government policy when subcontracting. This course focuses on regulatory and practical aspects of preparing for and successfully passing a CPSR.
Participants will understand: regulatory guidance for Government oversight of unapproved/approved purchasing systems; the benefits of maintaining an approved system; the methodology of the audit process; practical, proven steps for preparing for CPSR; and strategies for managing the CPSR event.

Speaker and Presenter Information
Jack Hott
Jack R. Hott has over two decades of experience as a contracts professional in Government and the private sector. A retired Air Force officer, he served multiple acquisition related assignments with The Air Force and Defense Contract Management Agency. These assignments included Assistant Professor of Acquisition Management, Air Force Institute of Technology, multiple in-plant assignments where he functioned as Principle Administrative Contracting Officer/DACO managing contract administration, pricing, government property, CAS and overhead approvals, supplier quality, and subcontract management.
After leaving the Air Force, Mr. Hott became principle consultant to a small veteran owned business developing and presenting training on a variety of government contracting subjects including cost/price analysis, contract administration and Cost Accounting Standards. From there he worked for a series of large businesses who were prime contractors to Department of Defense, Department of Energy and other agencies. His work focused primarily on small business programs, procurement and subcontracting processes, procedures, compliance, and audit readiness where he has been responsible for successfully passing multiple CPSR audits.
In addition, Mr. Hott is an active leader in the National Contract Management Association. He is a former member of the national board of directors, national treasurer, chapter president, and currently serves on the Contract Management Board of Examiners overseeing the Association’s professional certifications. He is a lifetime Certified Professional Contract Manager and Certified Federal Contract Manager, and a frequent speaker/presenter at the annual NCMA World Congress and other events.
