FOSE 2012 Witnesses Continued Growth in Quantity, Quality of Attendees

Vienna, Va - May 1, 2012 - 1105 Media's Government Events Group, the leading producer of trade shows and conferences for the government information technology (IT) market, today announced that the FOSE 2012 Conference and Exposition witnessed a continued growth in attendance and received high recognition for the quality of educational programming. The event was held April 3-5, 2012 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.

FOSE 2012 had a 7% increase in attendance over the previous year, and once again drew a broad-range of senior-level decision makers, including Chief Information Officers, Chief Technology Officers, Chief Information Security Officers and IT Directors from the Department of Transportation, Office of Personnel Management, Department of Agriculture, Department of Health and Human Services, Department of Justice, Department of Homeland Security, Department of the Treasury, National Institutes of Health, U.S. Army and D.C. government, to name a few.

"We could not be more excited about the attendees' reaction to FOSE this year," said Daniel McKinnon, Vice President, Government Events, 1105 Media, Inc. "We have received excellent feedback in terms of the educational content and availability of new technologies on the show floor. I would like to extend a thank you to all of our exhibitors, attendees and presenters for contributing to this successful and dynamic event. I look forward to making FOSE even better in 2013."

In an evaluation survey, the education sessions/seminars/workshops and the ability to see new technology products/developments ranked as the top reasons why participants attended FOSE. In the same survey, 91% of 2012 attendees said they would recommend FOSE to a colleague, with some offering unsolicited testimonials, such as:

  • "In spite of the shrinking job market, FOSE continues to open doors to new possibilities and inspire new work. I took a number of observed trends back to my company to share with colleagues about how our work can improve and grow in the future"
  • "I believe that FOSE is essential for the government contractor; it is the place where both networking and information gathering about new technologies can take place within a professional atmosphere. FOSE is a meaningful investment of both time and effort that enhances my understanding of the scope of the IT Industry, and the needs of my clients in government at the same time, all while meeting the very people that fulfill the very needs of both"
  • "FOSE is great because it has information about technology all in one place and provides the education to back up all that technology"
  • "Like a race, IT is constantly changing. Attending FOSE gives one the opportunity to learn what is new and stay current. Do not get left behind. Attend FOSE"
  • "I recommend FOSE for anyone involved in cybersecurity and government"

FOSE 2012 served as the beginning of a year-long educational program for government technology and policy professionals. 1105 Media is also hosting separate, topical-focused conferences on October 22-23 at the Grand Hyatt in Washington, D.C. that will provide additional learning options around cloud computing/virtualization, cybersecurity, and mobility.

FOSE 2013 will again be co-located with GovSec and take place May 14-16, 2013 in Washington, D.C.
