The Institute for Defense and Government Advancement (IDGA) has announced its latest conference: Forensic Enabled Intelligence 2013 (FEI), set to take place April 22-24 at the Holiday Inn in Alexandria, Virginia.

According to the group, this event comes just as the Defense Forensics Enterprise takes shape and procurement procedures shift from ad-hoc funding to budgeted expenses. Established by the Department of Defense, the Defense Forensics Enterprise exists to expand the scope of defense forensic capacities and to synchronize efforts among federal agencies and armed forces.

Speakers for this event include representation from the Office of the Provost Marshal General of the Army, Naval Criminal Investigation Service, the Air Force Office of Special Investigations and the Department of Defense.  Presentations will focus on where forensics is headed. Sessions from the FBI, JIEDDO, Department of Justice and others will address lessons learned, the latest forensic technologies and employment techniques, as well as strategies for intelligence sharing.

There will also be a full focus day on digital forensics, which aims to address the state-of-science in digital forensic technologies, the latest digital threats, forensics for mobile devices and more.

Registration for FEI 2013 is now open and more information is available on the event website.
