2014 FOSE Blogger & Speaker Meetup

March 20, 2014 - Vienna, VA - 1105 Media Group, organizers of the FOSE and GovSec Conferences & Expos, hosted a FOSE 2014 Blogger and Speaker Meet-up on Wednesday, March 19 at the 1105 Media Group offices in Vienna, VA. In its 6th year, this invitation only event was held specifically for government technology influencers, FOSE speakers and bloggers. Held as an open forum, round table discussion, attendees were given an opportunity to discuss key elements of the upcoming FOSE Conference. The conversation moved from government events and the obstacles that continue to challenge them, along with the uprising of mobile and social media and how they are influencing the way government interacts with the public, cybersecurity and more.

Attendees at this meet-up included influencers; Jack Gates, Open Source Leadership blog, Dick Davies, SalesLab, Tom Suder, President at MobileGov, Ghadi Ben-Yehuda,  Director of Innovation and Social Media for IBM Center for The Business of Government, Tammi Marcoullie, Program Manager for Challenge.gov - GSA, Lovisa Williams, Sr. Policy Advisor at U.S. Office of Management & Budget, Guy Timberlake, Co-Founder and Chief Visionary Officer of The American Small Business Coalition, LLC, Penelope Parker, Vice Chair of the Woman in Technology Communications Committee. Representatives were also present from CSFI, Tuvel Communications, LLC, 1105 Media Group and GovEvents.

FOSE 2013 Offers Comprehensive Conference Program to Government Attendees for Free

Event Responds to Market Demands, Opens all Educational Sessions, Keynotes and Workshops to Government

1105 Meet-Up: Sequestration & Government Events, Mobile & Government Workforce

Vienna, VA--1105 Media Group, organizers of the FOSE and GovSec Conferences & Expos, hosted a FOSE 2013 Blogger & Speaker Meet-up Thursday, March 21 at 1105 Media Group offices in Vienna, VA. Invitation-only and held specifically for government technology influencers, the FOSE 2013 Blogger & Speaker Meet-up is the fifth in an ongoing series of high-level meetings, where FOSE speakers and bloggers are given an opportunity to discuss significant topics including sequestration and government events, mobile and the government workforce, cybersecurity and more.

This meet-up included influencers Brand Niemann, Ph.D., Director and Senior Enterprise Architect - Data Scientist at Semantic Community, Ghadi Ben-Yehuda,  Director of Innovation and Social Media for IBM Center for The Business of Government., Brad Barker, Director of Professional Services at Master Key Consulting and Young AFCEANs  National Capitol Region President , Ajay Budhraja, Chief Technology Officer, EOIR at the United States Department of Justice, and Nick Wakeman, Editor-in-Chief at Washington Technology. FOSE 2013 Announce New Project Management Track

Sessions to Examine Best Practices and Risk Management for Project Managers

FOSE 2013, in partnership with Project Management Institute (PMI), will offer a new track for attendees focused on educating project managers about reducing risks and effectively managing projects in the new budget environment. FOSE 2013 will take place May 14-16 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.

"PMI, our partner in providing this new track, recently conducted a study that found organizations risk, on average, $135 million for every billion dollars they spend," said Mike Eason, Vice President, Public Sector Events, 1105 Media, Inc. "With budgets tighter than ever, this track is a perfect opportunity for government project managers to seek new insights on decreasing risks while saving funds."

The Project Management track at FOSE 2013 will feature a keynote, workshop and seven sessions dedicated to improving efficiencies and skills, managing risks, agile development and metrics for project managers. Attendees will learn best practices, organizational change models and lean-agile techniques as they hear from agency and industry experts, including:

1105 Media, Messe Duesseldorf North America Roll Out New Events

Two show management companies recently announced new events on the horizon: 1105 Media's Office Technology Group will launch the Business Imaging Expo, and Messe Duesseldorf North America, a subsidiary of Germany-based Messe Duesseldorf, will debut Energy Storage North America.

1105's new show will be held Dec. 11-12 at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino. "The office technology industry is changing rapidly," said Office Technology Group Publisher Patricia Ames.
