Cancellation Policy: AWWA must receive cancellations in writing. Phone cancellations are not accepted. All cancellations dated on or before 8/8/2024 will receive a refund, minus a 25% administrative fee. Starting 8/9/2024, cancellations will not be refunded; however, substitute registrants are welcome. Email requests for substitutions or cancellations to service@awwa.org.

The program offers a variety of topics for a range of attendees including upper management, engineers, operators, cybersecurity professionals, a range of consultants, and more. 2024 Pre-Conference Workshops

Workshops provide in-depth, hands-on comprehensive learning opportunities. Workshop registrations do require a separate fee. Additional details and agendas are available within the Online Program. 

Workshops - Sunday, September 8
PCW01—How to Implement Physical Condition Assessment and Predictive Maintenance Tools to Guide Investments and Lower Life Cycle Costs (Full Day, includes lunch)
This workshop will offer examples of condition assessment and predictive maintenance that have been implemented at utilities around the US. Participants will have the opportunity to rate the condition of assets based on photos of assets taken in the field, go through predictive maintenance technologies with the equipment present for attendees to use. There will also be examples of data results.

PCW02—STI/SPFA Field Erected Steel Water Storage Tank Seminar (Half-Day)
The STI/SPFA Field Erected Steel Water Storage Tank workshop for consulting engineers, municipality and utility administrators, and water storage tank owners and operators features new, important topics and content.

PCW03—Back to Basics with OT and Cybersecurity (Half Day)
Designed for water utility professionals, this workshop emphasizes low-cost, practical strategies in OT and cybersecurity. Participants will learn key principles, recognize specific risks in the water sector, and master cost-effective measures to enhance security and operations. It's an ideal session for utilities with limited resources, focusing on impactful yet affordable security solutions.

PCW04—Integrating Utility Data into your Risk and Resilience Assessment and Emergency Response Plan (Half Day)
Learn pro tips to better utilize existing data to reduce your risk and improve your resilience. Customize and refine your America’s Water Infrastructure Act (AWIA) RRA and ERP for 2025. Gain hands-on experience to inform your risk mitigation project decision making from national utility risk and distribution modeling experts.

PCW05—Operationalizing AI: Roles, Use Cases, Ethics and the Future (Half Day)
This workshop will look at the ways that water utility operations will be impacted by Artificial Intelligence (AI) and other advanced technologies. Participants will identify the points in a typical day where technology impacts how they do their job and examine ways that these interactions will evolve as technology advances.

AWWA will provide Certificates of Completion for sessions & workshops. Use the conference Mobile App to track your session attendance by downloading “AWWA Events” from your app store, then entering posted Check-in & Check-out codes at the beginning and conclusion of each session.
