Free Webinar to Teach Women Biz Owners about Regulatory Fairness in Govt. Contracting

Government contracting can be a lucrative strategy for small businesses looking to grow, but it can also be an expensive endeavor for those that are unfamiliar with the regulations enforced by federal agencies.

What many small businesses may not know is that there is an organization in Washington dedicated to protecting small companies from unfair federal regulatory enforcement actions. The Office of the National Ombudman (ONO) works to assist small companies when they experience roadblocks – like repetitive audits and excessive fines and penalties – during the federal contracting process.

To introduce women business owners to the work and benefits of the ONO, the Give Me 5 program is hosting a free webinar with Brian Castro from the ONO and WIPP National Partner Doña Storey. The duo will provide expert advice on navigating the contracting process and emphasize the role that ONO can play in protecting small businesses from unwarranted actions.

The Give Me 5 program was created by American Express OPEN and Women Impacting Public Policy to help women business owners get a leg up on selling to the world’s largest customer:  the U.S. government. Each year, the government has a goal to award 5% of contracts to women-owned small businesses.
