BACKGROUND:

The 2014 AOC Europe Conference, now in its 14th year, is scheduled for 14 – 15 May 2014 and will be preceded by an Intelligence Workshop on 13 May sponsored by Plath GmbH.  The Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC) has been chosen as the venue and offers superb facilities with more space available in response to increased demand following the hugely successful 2013 event in Cologne where 45 nations were represented.  The 2014 Conference will follow a well-proven format of presentations, Q&A and discussions in a relaxed atmosphere with lunches and refreshments included.  The AOC is the international Electronic Warfare advocacy association with over 13,500 members worldwide and is celebrating its 50th Anniversary.  Once again, AOC EW Europe will be supported by the AOC’s logistics partner Clarion Events and local European Chapters.

THEME:

Like other nations, the UK MOD has recently concluded a classified Electromagnetic Environment (EME) review and is already implementing far-reaching changes following on from NATO’s EW transformation concept of 2007.  Both recognise the EME as a vital physical war fighting manoeuvre space.  AOC EW Edinburgh will discuss the future of electromagnetic operations and capabilities such as EW, C4ISR, and SIGINT.  The Armed Forces of many countries are changing in response to the move from decade-long counter-insurgency to more demanding and less certain contingency operations played out in the light of resources constraints, complexity and none more so than those engaged in EW and related electromagnetic operations (EMO).
