U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Information Management / Information Technology Symposium 2010 (USACE IM/IT)

The US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) is proud to announce the return of their annual IT symposium: USACE IM/IT Symposium 2010. (This conference has previously been called the DIM/CIM Symposium and the RIO Symposium.) The USACE IM/IT Symposium will take place at The Benson Hotel the week of August 16-20, with exhibits open from Monday evening's reception through Wednesday afternoon.

There have been some key personnel changes at USACE since the 2009 Symposium: the new CIO is Robert V. Kazimer, replacing Wil Berrios; and USACE will also be hiring a new Deputy CIO. This event will be the perfect opportunity to introduce yourself to them and demonstrate your company's capabilities in supporting the USACE mission.

Under the new Information Management/ Information Technology (IM/IT) enterprise model, Corps of Engineers Corporate Information (CECI) and Army Corps of Engineers-Information Technology (ACE-IT) are full partners. CECI is responsible for strategic/command and control activities, while ACE-IT is responsible for tactical/operational activities.

The Army Corps of Engineers Information Technology (ACE-IT) organization is the result of a successful bid by the USACE Most Efficient Organization (MEO) in response to a USACE A-76 competition to provide IM/IT services. The government MEO teamed with Lockheed Martin to develop a “Mission Assured, Industry Best” IM/IT solution that combined irreplaceable government Corps of Engineers knowledge and experience with the proven best practices of an industry-leading IT services contractor. The result is ACE-IT – a dedicated government / contractor team with all the right stuff to meet the challenges of cost effective enterprise IM/IT service delivery and transformation of the USACE IM/IT environment.
