2014 Workshop on Supporting Diversity in Systems Research

The 2014 Workshop on Supporting Diversity in Systems Research (Diversity '14) is a forum to support traditionally underrepresented students in systems research. The workshop is part of the CRA-W/CDC program on Discipline-Specific Workshops. It provides minority and female students at the graduate or advanced undergraduate level with valuable opportunities for mentorship and networking. However, the workshop is open to everyone. We encourage all students within the systems research community to attend.

The program includes invited technical talks from diverse members of the systems research community, a student research symposium and poster competition, and career-oriented panel discussions. The overall goal of the workshop is to strengthen the pipeline of systems students, providing them with advice and networking opportunities that they might not otherwise receive.

Specifically, the workshop will include:

  • Invited talks from systems researchers
  • Panel discussion on career planning
  • Student Poster Competition
  • PhD Research Symposium
  • Student travel grants

Interested in participating? The deadline has been extended! Apply to the Student Poster Competition and/or the PhD Research Symposium. Applications are due August 22, 2014. See the Call for Participation for details.
