Preparing for Success in the Federal Market Place Series: What You Need to Know: Certification and Verification for Veteran-Owned Business
THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELED
The U.S Federal Government is the world’s Fortune One buyer of services and products. In fiscal year 2012, agencies and the military awarded more than $45 billion to Veteran-Owned and Service-Disable Veteran-Owned Small Business. There are still many contracting opportunities available since most agencies do not met their annual 5%/3% VOSB/SDVOSB goal due to a lack of identified contractors in the marketplace. This series of webinars will help set you on the fast track to the federal market and start winning contracts.
In order for small businesses to be eligible for service-disabled and veteran owned contract set-asides with the Department of Veteran’s Affairs (VA), they must be Verified by the Center for Veteran’s Enterprise (CVE). Increasingly, Contracting Officers from other agencies are relying upon this Verification as well. Learn more about the verification process, learn about common reasons for denials and delays, and learn how to increase your company’s probability of verification. This session will also review re-verification for those who are already verified.
Learning Objectives:
- Review of Self-Certification as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) with the Small Business Administration (SBA)
- Differences between the SBA Self-Certification program and the CVE Verification program.
- Learn what every company should know before beginning the verification process, including:
- Required documents
- Reasons for Denials and Delays
- Verification process and procedures including recent changes
- Denials and Requests for Reconsideration
- Future of SDVOSB/VOSB Verification
