Document, Document, Document! How to Manage Challenging Employee Behavior in the Federal Workplace
Knowing how to properly document an employment action presents a win/win for your agency. It will either rehabilitate a problem employee or provide the basis – and defense – for the employee’s removal.
Learn the ins and outs of documentation from Bob Grant, a highly popular trainer with a 36-year federal career under his belt. You’ll minimize the time you spend on employee-related issues — while maximizing your success in grievances, appeals and EEO complaints — with his expert insights on:
- Preparing documentation so it includes the problem and impact and avoids using jargon
- How to properly address employees’ time and attendance issues
- Determining nexus when misconduct occurs after work
- Storing and/or maintaining supervisory notes to serve as memory joggers
- The importance of counseling as the first step in correcting misconduct
- Penalty selection and case law on “similarly situated” employees
- And more!
