Diaspora Day of Civic Hacking: Nairobi

tiphub's Diaspora Day of Civic Hacking is a day of global advocacy and hackathon that pairs technologists and community leaders to brainstorm on and rapidly prototype digital solutions for organizations that strengthen communities around the world & engage Diaspora participation.

Aimed at unlocking the ingenious of the African Diaspora & local communities to tackle social issues, DDCH attendees will mobilize with fellow participants at one of our partner locations or within their own communities. Event-goers will segment into team and spend the day overcoming technical challenges and developing prototypes on behalf of dynamic organizations such as Asante Africa Foundation, The Peace Corps, BudgIT, The Dream Defenders, United Negro College Fund, & more.

Upon completion of the event, the projects will be supplied to the featured organizations to review in addition to being uploaded to our open sourced portal where visitors can access the hacks to ignite change within their own communities all around the world.

Who can participate in DDCH? Developers and IT professionals, Students, Innovation enthusiasts, Philanthropic and Impact Professionals, Business Strategist, Finance Leads, Project Managers and anyone with an interest in supporting civic organizations making strides in African and Diaspora communities. If you are a stakeholder or have a vested interest in bettering the Diaspora Community and the world at large we would love to have you in attendance.

Why should you attend DDCH? The globalization of technology has enabled us to intermingle new ideas with traditional structures for positive impact. As a stakeholder vested in your community, there is no better advocate to spark transformative economic, social, cultural, and political change. We welcome your ideas, skills and unique perspective in supporting organizations that uplift Diaspora communities.
