Saint George Ball

Military Balls are an important part of building unit cohesion in the Army with Soldiers, spouses, and honored guests. As an active supporter of the U.S. Armed Forces, FBC is honored to be a supporter of the 2015 St. George Ball in Columbus, Georgia.

For the Armor and Cavalry community, military balls are steeped in traditions that can be traced back to the pre-Revolutionary War era. The annual St. George Ball provides an opportunity for Soldiers of all ranks and their spouses to assemble and reflect on the sacrifices of those who have served in the past, to connect the Armor/Cavalry history with the modern Tanker and Scout, and to recognize the efforts of those who currently serve. This year's theme is "1940-2015 - 75th Anniversary of the Armor Branch." One of the senior Armor Officers actively serving, General David Perkins, will be the guest speaker this year.  In addition to recognizing the Congressional act that officially established in Armor Branch in 1940, this year's Ball will also recognize two historic regiments: the 11th Armor Cavalry Regiment and the 66th Armor Regiment.

A mix of over 300 enlisted soldiers, officers, and distinguished community members will gather on 24 April 2015 at the River Mill Event Center in Columbus, GA to celebrate these traditions, honor the regiments, and remember those that serve.
