2nd Annual CyberMontgomery Forum 


The Federal Business Council, Inc. (FBC) and the Montgomery County Department of Economic Development are pleased to announce the 2015 CyberMontgomery Forum! Developed in conjunction with leaders from federal and local government, industry and academia, this year the Tech Council of Maryland is partnering to expand the conference.   The purpose of CyberMontgomery is to: 

  • highlight assets located in Montgomery County, MD
  • provide a platform for information sharing
  • help coalesce the cybersecurity ecosystem within Montgomery County
  • highlight Montgomery County as a desirable location for companies and personnel to locate who are involved with the business of Cyber Security
  • continue to develop business opportunities for companies located in Montgomery County in within the cybersecurity ecosystem
Cybersecurity will be a major growth engine in the region for many years to come. With solid federal government, industry and academic assets already in place in the region, there is still a need to bring them together so that they can coalesce and elevate the cyber ecosystem to a level of national prominence. CyberMontgomery Forum events will provide clear direction on finding business opportunities, contracting, forecasted demand areas, workforce development, recruiting & staffing, legal responsibilities for businesses, updates on technologies being developed in MoCo and summary updates regarding our NCCoE neighbors, federal civilian agencies and commercial sector leaders.

Montgomery County, MD is home to over 18 federal agencies including NIST, FDA, NOAA, and the National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (NCCoE).  NCCoE is an exciting addition to Montgomery County’s growing cybersecurity sector, especially in commercial cyber applications.  Established in 2012 through a partnership among NIST, the State of Maryland and Montgomery County, NCCoE is dedicated to furthering innovation through the rapid identification, integration and adoption of practical cybersecurity solutions.  Montgomery County is also proud to boast over 40 cybersecurity companies.  According to a recent analysis by the Workforce Investment Board, local companies with a major cyber focus employ upwards of 37,000 people.  Cybersecurity will be a major growth engine for Montgomery County for many years to come.

CyberMontgomery is open to all cyber professionals in and around Montgomery County. Invitations will go out to the federal agencies located within MoCo, the 40+ cybersecurity companies, as well as the major investment firms and academic institutions.   Over 250 professionals attended the inaugural conference in 2014.
