Geospatial & Remote Sensing Law Workshop

The USGIF Geospatial and Remote Sensing Law Working Group on Wednesday, Nov.18, is offering a half-day program on legal matters critical to the geospatial community. Lawyers, government contract administrators, and business leaders from across the geospatial community will benefit from this program.

You must be a United States Citizen to participate in this event.

Registration for this event is now closed.

The program will be held 8 a.m. until 12 p.m., and USGIF Member General Dynamics Information Technology has offered to host the event at its office in Springfield, VA. The program will include three panels:

Government Contracts and Organizational Conflicts of Interest: Conflicts in an Increasingly Conflicted World
This panel will include expert analysis on conflicts of interest requirements and regulations, industry-based perspectives on how to conduct business in a conflict-laden industry, and alternative agency-level perspectives on how to best avoid, mitigate, and neutralize OCIs.

Government Contracts and Intellectual Property: Playing a Critical Role in Geospatial Contracting
This panel will analyze Intellectual Property (IP) laws and regulations that govern government contracts; industry-based perspective on how contractors can preserve their rights to IP; and agency-level views on what license rights agencies need and what contractors can expect in the coming year.

Developments in Licensing of Commercial Remote Sensing Satellites
This panel will analyze the existing licensing regime in the U.S. and the impact that proposed changes are likely to have on the GEOINT Community.
