Speaker and Presenter Information

Scott Burns co-founded GovDelivery in a St. Paul basement at the end of the dotcom boom. GovDelivery's growth accelerated after 2009. The company has grown every year since its founding and now employs 200 people with offices in St. Paul, Madison, Washington, DC, New York, and Crawley (UK).

Dr. Simone Ahuja is on the forefront of a new kind of innovation, inspired by resourceful and fast-moving emerging markets. The old formulas - expensive R&D projects and highly-structured processes - just don't work anymore. Dr. Ahuja introduces us to the concept of frugal innovation: a flexible and inclusive approach that leads to dramatic - and achievable - growth.

Dr. Erika Garms is a workplace effectiveness expert with a gift for translating powerful scientific theory to everyday workplace practice. She shows organizations how to cut through the hype of improvement methods, and how to apply simple, high-impact, brain-based practices to make workplaces more effective and sane. She has been a consultant with management consulting firms -- local startups to global. She has also been a teacher, professor, internal organization development (OD) consultant and manager, and now runs her own firm based in the Twin Cities, Minnesota.

Gunnar Peterson (@oneraindrop) focuses on security architecture consulting and training. Experience includes Associate Editor for IEEE Security & Privacy Journal, a Microsoft MVP for App security, an IANS Research Faculty member, a Securosis Contributing Analyst, and a Visiting Scientist at Carnegie Mellon Software Engineering Institute. He maintains a popular information security blog at http://1raindrop.typepad.com.

Scott Schwefel speaks from experience. A serial entrepreneur, he created and sold three businesses by age 40, and now works with organizations who want to develop new communication strategies that increase sales, profits and productivity. He is the author of four books, has personally coached over 1500 CEOs, and his business today consists of speaking, writing, webinars, consulting and coaching around the world. Scott Schwefel works with organizations that want to leverage new communication strategies that will increase sales, profits and productivity.
