JBER - AFCEA Alaska Tech & Cyber Security Day



For the past 40 years, the Federal Business Council has produced thousands of symposiums, expositions, training forums, and conferences, both on-site and off, for the Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, and civilian agencies. 2016 stands to improve upon our schedule, with over 100 events planned.

 

The Armed Forces Communications & Electronics Association (AFCEA)- Alaska Chapter will, once again host the 9th Annual Information Technology & Cyber Security Day for Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson (JBER). The Information Technology & Cyber Day will also have strong support from AFCEA leadership on base and four of the major communication and technology focal points; Alaskan Command (ALCOM) J6, 673rd Communications Squadron-Elmendorf, 611th Air Communications Squadron (ACOMS)-Elmendorf and the 59th Signal Battalion - Richardson.

 

•    JBER - Elmendorf side is the largest Air Force installation in Alaska and home of the Headquarters, Alaskan Command (ALCOM), Alaskan NORAD Region (ANR), Eleventh Air Force (11 AF), and the 3rd Wing. Elmendorf AFB supports and defends U.S. interests in the Pacific and around the world by providing units capable of worldwide air power projection and meeting Pacific commands theater staging and throughput requirements. •    The 673rd Communications Squadron provides base-wide service and guidance for all communications and computer systems requirements.

•    The 611 ACOMS serves as the focal point for all command, control, communications, and computers (C4) support for ANR and 11 AF. In addition to providing communications planning and programming support to the three O&M contracts, the 611 ACOMS also manages $22 million in communications requirements.

•    JBER - Richardson side is headquarters for United States Army Alaska (USARAK), a subordinate unit of United States Army Pacific Command. The primary combat unit at the Fort is the 1st Battalion (Airborne), 501st Infantry, which along with smaller support, engineer, signal, military intelligence and artillery units, form a readily deployable combat task force in support of the 1st Brigade, 6th Infantry Division (Light) headquartered at Fort Wainwright.

•    The 59th Signal Battalion provides assured and responsive Strategic, Operational Base and scalable Expeditionary Communications Systems and services in support of Joint, DoD, and (USARAK) organizations while enabling C2 and information superiority to the Warfighter. NEC and strategic signal services are provided for all U.S. Army units in Alaska.
