Dialogue on Higher Education and CTE Panel

Join AGRP as we offer our Dialogue on Higher Education and CTE Policy 2016.  With education policy paramount to almost every American and crucial to our economic growth, the opportunity to reauthorize both the Higher Education Act and the Perkins Career and Technical Education (CTE) laws should yield a large crowd interested in the details and timelines.

The 2015 enactment of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) opened the doors for the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee and House Education and Workforce Committees to turn their attention to modernizing these critical education measures.

AGRP is bringing together top Congressional staff and Administration leaders to discuss the latest updates in an off-the-record session.

Dialogue on Higher Education and CTE Policy speakers will update attendees on the hot topics in Congress.  Invited speakers include:

  • Emily Slack, House Committee on Education and the Workforce
  • James Redstone, House Committee on Education and the Workforce
  • Christian Haines, House Committee on Education and the Workforce
  • Steve Townsend, Senate HELP Committee
  • Larry Smar, Senate HELP Committee
  • Andrew LaCasse, Senate HELP Committee
  • John E. Uvin, Acting Assistant Secretary for Career, Technical, and Adult Education, U.S. Department of Education

Be ahead of your peers and hear what issues will move in the 114th Congress - and when - from those who will be helping write and implement education policy.

This event is considered off-the-record, which allows for our speakers and attendees to have a more open conversation.  Please note that you will be asked to put away all electronic devices before the panel commences.

The event will take place Monday, March 14 from 8:30 AM - 10:00 AM at the Hall of States Building (444 North Capitol Street NW).  Registration is $90 for members and $175 for non-members.

Breakfast and coffee will be available.

  • Attendees may cancel their registration up to 72 hours prior to the event.
  • Substitutions may be made up to 24 hours in advance.
