Air Force Information Technology & Cyberpower Conference 2016 (AFITC)

It’s Back And More Important than Ever!

After a 4-year hiatus, what was once a must-attend event for so many IT leaders is returning to Montgomery this August. The Air Force Information Technology & Cyberpower Conference is bringing together Air Force IT experts, prominent IT academics, and America’s best cybersecurity vendors for 3 days of exhibits, speakers, education, and discussion about the ways we can better defend America from cyber-attacks, advanced persistent threats, and proactively lead in this in this increasingly digital world.

Foreign governments, hackers, terrorists, decentralized threats, and others have never presented a greater risk to the well being of the United States and the cybersecurity of corporations and private individuals. Everything from financial records and personally identifiable information to vital infrastructure and strategic information critical to the safety and security of the U.S. faces a litany of ever-evolving threats.

In 2015, the United States Office of Personnel Management (OPM) was hit with one of the worst data breaches in history, exposing not only personal data but also the security clearance information of nearly 22 million people. Underscoring this was a time lapse of nearly a year from the time of the initial breach until its detection. It is at this juncture that the AFITC reemerges to again bring together the best and brightest in the public and private sectors.

While the AFITC is not open to the general public, registration is open to Department of Defense personnel, military retirees, government contractors and local and state employees.

The AFITC will cover a wide range of topics related to IT and cybersecurity. Past conferences have covered topics of software, integration, vulnerability management, incident management, standard and compliance, monitoring, a variety of digital security concerns, and encryption as well as past and current challenges faced in this increasingly digital world. While you will find many of the same broader themes present in this year’s AFITC conference, the details in an ever-evolving digital world are changing at rapid pace.

Plan your time at the AFITC Conference right and keep track of all of the key sessions speakers and events that you want to attend.

PLEASE NOTE: Some events are by invitation only.
