Designed especially for federal technical staff and federal contractors with responsibilities for facility operations and maintenance, this course will familiarize you with categories of biobased products relevant to the O&M function, resources helpful in the selection of biobased products, and ideas for overcoming obstacles to the adoption of biobased products.

Course Objectives

After completing this module, you will be able to:

  1. list biobased product categories relevant to facility operations including lubricants, metal cleaners and corrosion removers, sorbents, bioremediation materials, greases, and fluids
  2. overcome barriers to the adoption of biobased products in your operations
  3. include the requirements to buy biobased in your O&M contracts.
  4. explore how the purchase of biobased products also helps to meet other goals such as those in the 2016 Guiding Principles for Existing Federal Buildings substitute biobased products for non-biobased products in facility operations and maintenance

Prerequisite: Recommended: “Fundamentals of Biobased Products and the BioPreferred Program”
