Clean Power Technologies
This event qualifies for 4 PDH
New environmental regulations require ships near major ports around the world to turn off dirty (high-sulfur) bunker fuel engines and switch to clean energy. These regulations have started impacting the operating modes of ships, tugboats, and ferries. Possible options, other than expensive low-sulfur fuel, for clean power on ship or on land, often for short time, include batteries and super-capacitors charged from shore power or using solar power on board. Likewise, fuel cells using stored hydrogen procured from shore or generated on board is another alternative.
The course will briefly cover the basics of Battery, Super-capacitor, Fuel Cell, and Solar Power Technologies.
