Amsterdam: US Export Controls for EU, NL, and other non-US Companies Seminar Series

This event qualifies for 8 ECoP

International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and Office of Foreign Assets Controls & Embargoes (OFAC) Explained - complete with the latest updates on Export Control Reform (ECR) as they apply to NON-US COMPANIES:

This seminar series provides both novice and experienced export compliance professionals with an in-depth education on compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and Office of Foreign Assets Controls & Embargoes (OFAC) complete with the latest updates on Export Control Reform (ECR) as they apply to NL, EU and other non-US Companies.  This perspective is also useful for US companies that have facilities, affiliates, or subsidiaries located outside of the US. We will review recent ECR changes and potential coming changes from the new administration and what they could mean for your compliance programs. Export Control Reform (ECR) changes have relaxed the controls on some defense-related items and technology, but made understanding and complying with the regulations even more complicated. The shift of many military and space items from the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) to the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) obliges exporters to learn the challenging ins and outs of the EAR. There is good news in the fact that the complex rules impose significantly fewer compliance burdens and fewer compliance-based export delays.

Special emphasis will be placed on how US regulations impact non-US companies, and branches of US companies that are physically located outside of the United States. Our instructors are widely respected experts in the field of export control compliance with over 30 years of experience in interpreting and applying the rules of the EAR, OFAC, and the ITAR.  Expect to leave these seminars with an in-depth understanding of what the current rules are and what you need to do to keep your company compliant.
