Big Data Insights for Big Real-Time Enterprise Security Protection

With the increases in data volumes, explosion in number of devices and sophistication of attackers, current cybersecurity tools are challenged processing the millions of events and providing insights fast enough.

Hortonworks Cybersecurity Platform (HCP) is a modern data application based on Apache Metron, powered by Apache Hadoop, Apache Storm, and related technologies that takes a data-science-based approach to cybersecurity with behavior profiling and machine learning to combat threats as they are escalating. HCP visualizes diverse, streaming security data at scale to aid security operations centers (SOCs) in detecting and responding to threats.

HCP provides a framework and tools to enable greater efficiency in Security Operation Centers (SOCs) along with better and faster threat detection in real-time at massive scale.

It provides ingestion, parsing and normalization of fully enriched, contextualized data, threat intelligence feeds, triage and machine learning based detection.
HCP’s extensible open data models are designed to expand reach into different data types relevant to security investigations and provide flexibility for data enrichment and transformation.

The extensibility of HCP’s framework means emerging new algorithms can be plugged into production quickly. The project includes a platform for rapid production deployment of machine learning models against streaming data sources, making data scientists more productive and increasing response times.
It provides advanced profiling of data allowing behavioral analytics and anomaly detection in real-time.

As a result, HCP delivers rapid time-to-value and gives customers and service providers the leverage effect of a whole community and partner eco-system
