Registration is now open for the inaugural Total Exposure Health 2018 Conference. It’s an opportunity for professionals in government, the Armed Services, academia, and industry to explore scientific advances that support the U.S. Air Force’s new initiative, Total Exposure Health. The initiative—and namesake of the conference—will bridge precision medicine and exposure science in an effort to improve the health of our armed forces and the public.
Research in toxicology, risk assessment, exposure science, and biotechnology—foundational areas of research for the SOT community—will be key to improving the armed forces’ operational readiness by reducing the impacts of exposure to chemical and non-chemical stressors.
We invite all of you to explore with us:
- the unique needs of the warfighter, veteran, and occupational health communities;
- advancements in exposure science, toxicology, and precision medicine; and
- the critical role of bioethics.
The conference will include a poster session and we encourage our colleagues—particularly students—to submit a poster. A social and expo will accompany the poster session, affording ample opportunity for networking among conference attendees and speakers.

Kim Anderson
Professor
Oregon State University & Co-founder of MyExposome, Inc.
Dr. Kim Anderson is a professor in the Department of Environmental and Molecular Toxicology at Oregon State University, and an OSU Alumni Distinguished Professor. She directs the Food Safety and Environmental Stewardship Program at OSU and was received the university’s Innovator of the Year award in 2017. Dr. Anderson has more than 100 peer reviewed articles and holds six patents. She is currently a member the Gulf Research Program Advisory Council for the National Academies of Science and has served on the board of directors for both North America and World Council for the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry. Since 2008, Dr. Anderson has been developing personal silicone wristband sampler technology for measuring individual chemical exposure as well as larger monitoring projects.
Christopher Bradburne

Dr. Bradburne's research has spanned several areas of biology and medicine, including biodefense, military genomic medicine and environmental health. He currently leads a systems biology center at Johns Hopkins University/APL that focuses on laboratory and informatics applications for human and animal genomics, infectious disease characterization and detection, bio-surveillance, and human performance. A current research interest is applying advances in long-read sequencing technologies to cytochrome P450 genotyping, in order to better inform susceptibility to environmental toxicants and threats.
Major Alfred Felipe

Major Alfred Felipe is currently stationed at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory as an Air Force Research Fellow, where he will work side-by-side PNNL's world-class researchers in support of the Air Force's TEH effort. He has served as an Air Force Bioenvironmental Engineer for over 7 years, having cross-trained from the Acquisitions career field after 4 years at Air Force Research Laboratory.
Clifton Dalgard

Clifton Dalgard, PhD, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Anatomy, Physiology & Genetics at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences and Core Director of the American Genome Center. He also is the Laboratory Core Director for the Collaborative Health Initiative Research Program, which supports population cardiovascular genomics studies for the National Heart Lung and Blood Institute, and a technology working group leader for the Applied Proteogenomics Organizational Learning and Outcomes (APOLLO) of the Cancer Moonshot.
J. Michael Gaziano

Dr. Gaziano is a preventive cardiologist and internationally recognized chronic disease epidemiologist whose research interests include the epidemiology of chronic diseases using large data sources. He is also Principal Investigator for the Million Veteran Program and Scientific Director of the Massachusetts Veterans Epidemiology Research and Information Center.
