USPHS Scientific and Training Symposium
The U.S. Public Health Service Scientific and Training Symposium is the pre-eminent event of its kind in the nation— offering an incomparable range of continuing education seminars on the latest trends and innovations in public health care delivery, administration and research. It also provides targeted training courses covering disaster preparedness, readiness response and other areas critical to maintaining our nation's security and public health infrastructure.
The 2011 event will be the 46th Annual Meeting of the nation’s top federal public health providers and administrators. It is expected to draw more than 1,000 attendees from federal agencies such as the Indian Health Service, the Office of Public Health Emergency Preparedness, Bureau of Prisons, the Department of Homeland Security, the National Disaster Medical System, the Health Resources and Services Administration, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the Medical Reserve Corps, the National Institutes of Health and other components of the Departments of Health and Human Services, Defense, Justice, Transportation, etc. as well as numerous state and local agencies and public health universities.
