The on-demand webinar will describe the evolution of Prestressed Rock Anchor technology as applied for over 50 years to dams in North America. This evolution will be presented through an analysis of the successive phases of the PTI "Recommendations" documents, which constitute the referenceable standard of care. Special attention will be paid to issues associated with long-term performance and the so called "Legacy Anchors."

Dr. Donald A. Bruce

President

Donald Bruce received his BS (Geology and Mineralogy) and Ph.D (Geotechnical Engineering) from Aberdeen University, Scotland. He thereafter worked in specialty geotechnical construction in projects worldwide. As President of Geosystems LP, Donald specializes in the application of ground treatment, improvement and retention techniques, principally associated with dams, levees, deep foundations, tunnels and mines. Dr. Bruce is a Chartered Civil Engineer and Fellow of the Institute of Civil Engineers (UK), and a Licensed Geologist/Engineering Geologist (US). He has authored over 300 technical papers and three textbooks, most recently " Dam Foundation Grouting " (with Weaver); and Specialty Construction Techniques for Dam and Levee Remediation. " He serves on Boards of Consultants throughout the U.S. and many other countries.
