Cooking the Books - How to Keep Your Finances Straight (Wednesday Workshop)
The Government Contractors Association is a professional, public organization designed to facilitate business owners in winning government contracts through education, resources, and relationships.
In April, we will feature a workshop series entitled “Know Your Numbers” where business owners will work on their business’s financial status. This first class will make sure you understand the basics in bookkeeping, ideal accounting systems to use, and DCAA (used by government contractors). Many business owners know how to run their business, but are clueless on how to manage their books properly. Whether you decide to manage your own books or manage the accountant who does your books, this class is for you.
Hortense Oros, owner of GP&H Financial Services, will teach on the basics of accounting, DCAA,& information on new tax laws and how they affect your business. She has served as Staff Accountant, Senior Accountant, and Revenue Manager for corporations in Denver, CO; Boston, MA; and Atlanta, GA.
