23rd Annual FISSEA Conference & Expo

The 23rd Annual Federal Information Systems Security Educators' Association (FISSEA) Conference will be held at the National Institutes of Health, Natcher Conference Center on March 23-25, 2010. Exhibits will be March 24 only.

This year's theme is “Unraveling the Enigma of Role-Based Training." The first two days of the 3-day conference include one track devoted to role-based training and a second track focusing on awareness, training, education and certification topics. The third day features a special emphasis on Cyber Security Initiatives. Through dual tracks of high quality presentations, 125-150 attendees will learn about new ways to improve their IT security program and practical solutions to training problems while earning Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits. The vendor fair gives attendees a tactical look at the products and services available to meet their professional goals.

Conference attendees include information systems security professionals, trainers, developers, educators, managers, CIOs, academia, and researchers involved with information systems security awareness, training, education, certification, and professionalism. Last year’s attendee list included individuals from: DoD, USDA, FDA, DISA, GAO, NOAA, Census, NRC, SSA, IRS, NIH, EPA, DOJ, Treasury, VA, SBA, DHS, NIST and HUD. In addition to the conference attendees, the expo will be open to all NIH employees.

The Federal Information Systems Security Educators` Association (FISSEA), founded in 1987, is an organization run by and for federal information systems security professionals. FISSEA assists federal agencies in meeting their computer security training responsibilities. The FISSEA organization runs monthly executive board meetings, has workshops approximately 4 times a year and organizes this conference annually.
