10:15 am Morning Break and Refreshments
10:45 am Concurrent Sessions
Cloud Computing: Software Services and Applications
Cloud computing is a topic that generates a lot of discussion. It seems that just about any service can be offered in the "cloud", including email, applications, maintenance and development. Some jurisdictions have taken the plunge but others insist that the model is inappropriate for government applications. This session takes a close look at issues, options and opportunities.
Chris Dotson, Worldwide Infrastructure Architect, IBM (on behalf of DMD Data Systems Inc.)
Lauren Farese, Senior Director, Public Sector, Oracle
Mobile Technologies: Driving Change in Infrastructure, Networks and Devices
Rapid advances in mobile technologies are causing fundamental changes to social interaction, resulting in an overwhelming demand for mobile access. Increases in coverage, bandwidth and personal devices open the door to limitless possibilities as well as a host of potential problems if caught unprepared. This session focuses on how to meet the challenges - and opportunities - that lie ahead.
Linda Kenworthy, Business Development Manager, Intel Americas
Paul Syrvalin, Advanced Solutions Architect, Avaya Inc.
Security in a New Era
The landscape has shifted. What used to be a playground for mischief-makers has morphed into a battlefield dominated by organized criminals who are fueled primarily by financial gain. Yet at the same time, government IT organizations are constantly pressured to become more transparent, accessible and collaborative. This session discusses the latest technologies, strategies and solutions for assessing and preventing vulnerabilities.
James Fischer, Advanced Solutions Group - Security, Oracle

IT Skill Sets of the Future
Jon Peirce, Vice President of Global IT Infrastructure and Services, EMC Corporation
As society continues to be transformed by technology (and vice versa), it is vital that IT skills continue to evolve. What does the cloud mean to you and your job? Is it no longer possible to specialize? To what degree should a manager be responsible for determining ROI and the cost of IT? Will evolving "rules of engagement" catch us by surprise? This session offers a healthy discussion about the road ahead for IT personnel at all levels.
1:20 pm Afternoon Break and Refreshments
1:40 pm Concurrent Sessions
Cloud Computing: Infrastructure and Storage
The cloud, whether external or internal, offers an infrastructure with tremendous scalability, flexibility and potential savings. But there are concerns - especially with security, privacy and control - that can make it a nervous decision. This session takes a look at what the cloud has to offer and how - and if - it can be used safely, effectively and economically.
Daniel Arnold, Assistant Director, Division for Technical Services, Commonwealth Office of Technology, Commonwealth of Kentucky
Joey Jackson, System Engineer, State & Local Government/Education, NetApp
Sunit Khanna, Cloud Computing Solutions Architect, Cisco Systems Inc.
Mobile Technologies: Driving Change in Government Services and Applications
Experts predict that demand for mobile access will explode by 2012. The global market for wireless applications - which barely existed just a few years ago - has already experienced downloads in the tens of billions. Not surprisingly, pressure is mounting on government IT organizations to be more proactive in providing mobile services and applications. This session looks at workable strategies and affordable opportunities.
Hunter Downey, Solution Advisor, SAP Public Services Inc.
Carlos Mariosa, Senior Manager, Government Solutions Practice, AT&T
Smart Government
Last year Governor Beshear introduced a Smart Government Initiative to streamline government services and improve efficiency. Progress is being made on numerous fronts ranging from shared services to e-forms to workflow to procurement, but there is much more to do. This session provides an update on the latest successes, opportunities and lessons learned.
Lori Flanery, Secretary, Finance & Administration Cabinet, Commonwealth of Kentucky
Robin Kinney, Executive Director, Office of Administrative Services, Finance & Administration Cabinet, Commonwealth of Kentucky
Don Speer, Executive Director, Office of Procurement Services, Finance & Administration Cabinet, Commonwealth of Kentucky

Cool Tools and Trends
Innovation is alive and well in Kentucky, demonstrating that it is possible to accomplish great things with limited resources. This session offers several thought-provoking initiatives that are sure to inspire, motivate and get the wheels turning about what might be possible in your own organization.
David G. Summerfield, Director of Information Technology, Clerk's Office, Jefferson County
Floyd Thomas, Senior Territory Account Manager, Adobe Systems Incorporated
Broadband Initiatives in the Commonwealth
Next-generation broadband is getting a lot of attention (and funding) recently, and it plays a key role in federal priorities. This session focuses on the Commonwealth of Kentucky to address the latest trends, developments, adoption strategies and capabilities of statewide broadband efforts, as well as the impact of Broadband Stimulus dollars and directives.
Phil Baughn, Executive Director, Office of Broadband Outreach & Development, Commonwealth of Kentucky
Steve Miller, Government Data Solutions Manager, Verizon Wireless
Rene True, Executive Director, ConnectKentucky
Kentucky One-Stop
The population is getting more sophisticated - and demanding - about their online experiences. Pressure is mounting for self-service government, but it can become a reality only when we truly focus on "I-Government", which refers to an integrated one-stop shopping experience. Kentucky is making this an exciting priority, but it requires an entirely new level of collaboration and cooperation. This session discusses ways to smooth the road and speed up the process.
Allen Eskridge, Chief of Staff, Secretary of State's Office, Commonwealth of Kentucky
Lee Tompkins, General Manager, Kentucky.gov
4:00 pm Executive Reception
