This course is designed for any contractor who holds a GSA or VA Multiple Award Schedules contract. Having an understanding of this unique contract vehicle from the Government contracting professional’s perspective will benefit your business and marketing efforts. You will strengthen your knowledge of Federal Supply Schedules contracting ordering procedures along with other enounces. The course covers the guidance outlined in the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Subpart 8.4 and other parts of the FAR that are applicable to orders placed against Schedules.

  • Discussion of the MAS Program, to include benefits, prioritization, goals, and characteristics
  • Clarify ordering procedures based on dollar thresholds
  • Learn procurement requirements as they relate to the MAS program
  • Understand how Government conducts market research using GSA Schedules
  • Identify key elements of the acquisition strategy using Multiple Award Schedules
    • Using Schedule Contractor Team Arrangements (CTA)
    • Using Schedule Blanket Purchase Agreements (BPA)
  • Examine how Government can limit sources with a Limited Sources Justification (LSJ)

Speaker and Presenter Information

Tommy Benton is a retired Senior Procurement Analyst for the General Services Administration’s Federal Acquisition Service in the Multiple Award Schedules (MAS) Policy Division. He served as the Chief of MAS Policy, where he developed and presented multiple training courses on the proper use of the MAS Program through online and classroom presentations. As a former DAWIA Level III Navy Contracting Officer and a member of the U.S. Navy Acquisition Professional Community, he also holds additional Level III certifications as FAC-C, FAC-COR, and FAC-PPM.
