Federal IT Career Workshop

The Federal government is the largest employer in the world with a workforce of more than 2 million strong, dedicated to improving the lives of the American people. The talent recruitment effort is ongoing year to year; in 2020, USAJOBS.gov hosted more than 330,000 job announcements.

As a student, you may wonder if a career in government is for you. Questions about how to apply, what kind of jobs does the government offer, what career paths are available, and will you fit in may be on your mind.

AFFIRM’s annual Federal IT Career Workshop will walk you through the answers to the questions – some of which might surprise you – and open the door to a career with the Federal government.

We’ll take an in-depth look at these topics and more:

  • Transitioning from College to Career
  • Good Enough for Government Work: Lucrative Careers in Government
  • The Many Faces of a Computer Scientist in Government
  • To Catch a Thief: Cryptocurrency, Ransomware, and Fraud

Join AFFIRM for this workshop as you navigate your path through a career in government.

Learning Objectives:

  • Explore programs developed to encourage college graduates to enter government service including the Pathways program that connects students from high school through post-graduate school with career development opportunities.
