Managing Zero-Trust in a Complex World

The Presidential Directive is driving federal agencies, their employees, and customers, who rely on the ability to communicate and collaborate remotely. These remote work capabilities were accelerated by the pandemic.  The Zero Trust model designed by Cisco provides balance between security and usability for the workforce, workloads, and workplace. Zero Trust provides a comprehensive approach to securing all access across applications and environments, from any user, device, and location. The approach is basically agnostic as to what is currently on an agency's network, but provides a strategic framework.

Agencies efforts have been underway to create more effective ways to collaborate with employees and mission partners, while providing critical services to the public. Agencies and their integrator partners recognize the importance of technologies such as cloud, edge computing, and wireless 5G to magnify reach and help to achieve their overall mission.

At the same time, cybercriminals and hackers have honed their skills to infiltrate agency assets and the wider, less protected, attack surface.  A well planned Zero Trust architecture and continuing IT modernization efforts can increase security for federal networks for both cloud and on-prem resources. The Presidential Directive and the upcoming 60 day implementation plan are drawing near for Agencies to implement their plans.

In this webcast attendees will learn:

  • Best practices to secure increasingly critical resources
  • Agency experts' experiences in protecting inter and intra-agency collaborative capabilites
  • Next steps on where to look for expertise in a true Zero Trust implementation
