Priority #3: Managing the Business of Government to Build Back Better

The final priority in Biden-Harris’ President Management Agenda centers on two strategies to strengthen and manage American businesses. It highlights the necessity of improving the Federal acquisition process while supporting the American workforce and environment sustainability. It also focuses on strategically redistributing funds to encourage businesses that are embracing these changes!

Enhancing Federal IT, cybersecurity, data management, and application is integral in reaching all three of the priorities. The COVID-19 pandemic showed us how critical IT investments are to supporting mission delivery and the essential work of Government. Further, the application of data management and data science to promote efficient, equitable and appropriate use of Federal data by Federal agencies is critical.  Nurturing a culture of evidence and data-based policy and decision making is critical to providing effective government services. Finally, Federal agencies will need to work collaboratively to address the new requirements which will require leveraging the cross-cutting IT solution to both plan and execute the interagency mission sets.
